This Is Not a Government Office. Washington Criminal History cannot retrieve an official record, perform a government background check, change a source record, or accept a vacation or sealing filing. Contact the agency or court that holds the original.
Need an Official Record?
Use the custodian that matches the Washington record:
- State criminal history and rap sheets: contact the Washington State Patrol Criminal Records Division, which administers WASIS and WATCH
- Criminal case documents: use the Washington court-case routes, then request the official file from the clerk of the court that heard the matter
- State prison status: use Washington DOC Incarcerated Search or contact the Washington State Department of Corrections
- Registry information: use the Washington Sex Offender Public Registry; county sheriffs handle registration and local classification questions
- Police and incident reports: ask the police department, sheriff, State Patrol unit, or other agency that created the report
- Vacation or sealing: file with the Washington court that entered the conviction or maintains the case, not with this website
- Bookings, jail records, and other local files: choose the responsible jurisdiction from the Washington county directory
For statewide Washington criminal-history questions, the verified public office is the Washington State Patrol Criminal Records Division, Identification and Criminal History Section, 106 11th Avenue SW, Suite 1300, Olympia, WA 98501, 360-534-2000. That office handles state repository records. It is not a substitute for the county court, jail, or police agency that owns an original local file.
